The origins of O. O. Corsaut Inc. date back to 1894, when George Corsaut and his uncle Chris Hunt entered into a partnership digging crock wells. The partnership was dissolved and George Corsaut continued drilling using horses as the power source when having to install drill pipe. (This was the common means of power up until this era.)

Things have changed a lot since those early days. Back in 1902, after an accident killed the horse powering the drill rig, George bought a new Keystone Drill, which was steam operated and the first one of its kind to come into Michigan.

Amongst many other endeavors, George's son, Otho Corsaut Sr. would also become involved in the business. One of those adventures Otho was involved in was to drill prospect wells for coal in the interior of Venezuela.

Later Otho Corsaut Jr. would enter into a partnership with his father and continue in the business until his death in 1999. Otho Jr. had graduated from the University of Michigan and then obtained a law degree from the Detroit College of Law, but stayed in the drilling business to develop it into what it is today.

The fourth generation of Corsauts who now own and manage the business are Otho “Buzz” Corsaut III, and Bill Corsaut who have been working in the business since teenagers.

The staff of O. O. Corsaut Inc. consists of repair service technicians, pump installers, well drillers and a managerial staff second to none. As members of state and national trade associations we keep up to date with all of the newest technology and trends in the industry along with the ever-changing regulations that govern the industry.
